Parents:

We are very proud of the CVHS Soccer Program.  It takes a coordinated effort to maintain a high quality program.  The school district does not supply your child with many of the things you might expect an athletic program to have.  Unfortunately sports programs have been under funded in recent years.  To make up for this, much of the necessary equipment, uniforms, balls, etc. are provided by the CVHS Soccer Booster’s, an organization of parents that volunteer their time and financial support to Cougar Soccer. Sometimes it isn’t easy to find the $170 or $240 to support your son’s soccer season.  But if we all don’t pay our share or join in on fundraising towards the soccer budget, needed uniforms, equipment, and supplies can’t be purchased or replaced.

It is vital for all of us to do our part to raise the money needed.  For many of us, fund raising is necessary….but it is also the smartest and easiest way to pay for soccer.  The money doesn’t come out of your pocket; it comes from local merchants that want to support our school programs….and we in turn, repay them by supporting their businesses. Selling gold cards or selling ads are two ways to raise your share of the money needed for our program.

Gold Cards: Gold Cards are community discount cards.  You buy them from us for $3.00 and sell them to your friends, neighbors, and members of the community for $10.00.  You earn $7.00 for each card sold.  Selling 27 cards will cover $170 for the 2005 season.  Gold cards will be available by contacting the Fundraising Coordinator,  Booster President, or Coach.  We request that you meet your $170 or $240 support in full, then purchase the number of Gold Cards you wish to sell to recover your money.

Selling Ads:  Each year we publish a booklet (Soccer Program) that is given to every player’s family at the end of the soccer season.  It contains information about all three soccer teams, the players, action pictures, stats and many advertisements the size of business cards up to full-page ads from merchants in our community. 

For every ad you or your son sells, you will receive 90% of its value towards your soccer commitment.  For example:  If you sell a quarter page ad which costs the business owner $80, $72 will go towards your account.  $72 you didn’t have to pay! Any funds generated for sales beyond your player’s current support payment will be allocated to a player scholarship fund. Take advantage of this great opportunity and motivate your son to sell these ads.
