**BIG CAT SUMMER SOCCER –
2008 RULES AND INFORMATION**(VAR)

  • Any player OR coach receiving 2 red cards will be prohibited from participating in the remainder of the summer league from the point the second card is received.
  • Only players scheduled to attend the high school (in the fall of 2008) of the team they are playing for may participate in Summer League.
  • Players must be CIF eligible or have the possibility of being CIF eligible through enrollment in summer school in order to participate.
  • A team with an A and B squad must submit rosters for both teams. Players from the B team may play for the A team if injury or a shortage of players dictates. However, an A team player MAY NOT play for the B Team unless and agreement is reached between both coaches. The inclusion of a B team is with the understanding that it is the weaker of the two teams fielded by the school and that the teams must remain separate entities.
  • In the event a team is short of enough players to play a game (7), they should show up and use players from another team to avoid shortchanging their opponent who expects the competition. In this event, a forfeit will be declared (1-0) at the end of the game.
  • All games will consist of 35-minute halves.
  • A trophy will be awarded to the first and second place teams.
  • Game balls will be provided by the home team. (listed first on schedule)
  • Trash pickup – please instruct parents and players to deposit trash (that includes tape from the game and water bottles) in the trash containers.
  • Teams will be seated on opposite sides of the field.
  • Any team or coach may be suspended from the league at the discretion of the league director due to persistent infringement of the rules, excessive misconduct on the field of play, or any violent behavior.

ROSTERS AND TEAM #’S

  • All teams must submit a Final roster to the Tournament director; with player’s names, grade, and jersey # prior to playing the sixth game of summer league.  Team rosters will cap at 25 players.
  • Teams in violation of roster rules or moving of players will forfeit games with a 1,0 loss.

 

BREAKING A TIE =

In the event a tie occurs in final points in a division, the following criteria will be used to break the tie.

  • head to head competition
  • goals against in league
  • goals for in league
  • if a tie still exists a PK contest will decide the outcome

 

FINAL Tournament 

  • Top 8 teams advance to the final tournament.  League games are two points for a win and one point for a tie.
  • Single elimination tournament
  • Ties after regulation time will go directly to penalty kicks to determine winner.
